A Windows Services Must First be Installed(Using InstallUtil.exe) and then started with the ServerExplorer,Windows Services Administrator Tool or the NET START command. After you've installed the PBX-connector please restart your computer. PBX-connector Windows service should start automatically. Check the PBX-connector is up and running: 1) Open the Windows Services snap-in: Control Panel – Administration – Services. 2) Find the All-In-One CTI – Avaya service. 3) Check that service state is Started.

Watch this video, I had the same question. He shows you how to debug the service as well.
Here are his instructions using the basic C# Windows Service template in Visual Studio 2010/2012.
You add this to the Service1.cs file:
You change your Main() to call your service this way if you are in the DEBUG Active Solution Configuration.
Keep in mind that while this is an awesome way to debug your service. It doesn't call Tshilidzi Mudau
OnStop() unless you explicitly call it similar to the way we called OnStart(null) in the onDebug() function.

Brinks alarm system manual. Welcome ® Thank you for choosing Brink’s Home Security. We appreciate your business. To get the most from the easy-to-use Brink’s Home Security System, please take the time to read this manual. It describes the components of the system, and tells you how to use the keypad. It also tells you what to do in the event of an alarm. I would like to say something about the Security Alarm Corporation and their employees, the techs, the office personnel, the sales people. They have all been very helpful when I have had a question concerning my system, Someone is always there to answer my question and get me headed in the right direction to correct a problem which in almost all cases, it was me that created a problem, whether.

Your code has nothing to do with the service installation, it is not the problem.
In order to test the service, you must install it as indicated.

I will suggest creating a setup project for the reasons while deploying this seems the best convinience , no headaches of copying files manually. Follow the Windows service setup creation tutorial and you know how to create it. And this instance is for vb.net but it is the same for any type.
